a walk I took through the woods

the tree I see is beautiful
the glow so radiant, so beautiful
it's been around for ages
starting small growing in stages
the tree so memorizing
drawing me in but it's paralyzing
I was not meant to find this tree
supposed to be kept secret to let it be
but the tree I see is beautiful
the glow so radiant, so beautiful
taking steps getting closer, just for a better look
what I saw next I stopped and shook
multiple faces starring back at me
as I turn to run I'm grabbed unexpectedly
roots and branches, tightly holding me
fighting and fighting I scream, "please set me free!"
the faces still staring becoming one
pulling out my soul, now left with none
everything not as it seems
a beautiful tree brought me to my knees
the faces disappearing back into the tree
an empty vessel walking still trying to be set free
