A Walk With Mother

By Zoe Wu

The beautiful sun rested,
As the golden leaves fell
And as the winter's wind suggested,
A cold autumn farewell.

Hand in hand we walked,
Your hand slipped from my own
Hour by hour we talked,
With a fading tone.

It was waiting,
For you needed to rest
And I stood watching,
As you sat down for the best.

Your kind heart rested quietly,
For nature's calming ways
Your sweet eyes closed peacefully,
For it was a beautiful day.

You held me in my arms,
During the hardest of all days
You've loved me like no one else could.

I'll miss you, mother.
