A Wonderful Smile

A Wonderful Smile

There was a gentle man with a wonderful smile
who would walk every day a mile
and greeted everyone he met along the way
as if this day were a holiday.

He was pleasant, kind, and manners too
listening to all as they spoke true
of all the grief that weighed on their body
like they were speaking to someone godly.

His patience was long and enduring
which made him more alluring,
all telling how it has been awhile
since they spoke to the man with a wonderful smile.

At times, he too, became burden with sadness
knowing that love could bring them gladness.
A volume of tenderness as he spoke,
forget promises that may have been broke.
Forgive and forget in the next little while
Then you too can live with a smile.
