A World Out of Phase

A World Out of Phase
By Jotham Austin
Snow that never melts,
Love that was forever,
Now always dies,
A sky that is never blue,
When birds refuse to fly,
Waiting by a phone that Never rings,
Waiting on a song bird that declines to sing,
Tornadoes, Hurricanes have grown stronger,
Fires that never go out,
What of climate change,
Do people realize what it is really about?
Where no one ever laughs,
Where no one ever cries,
Forgetting all that ever lived,
Forgetting all that has ever died,
In the land of the free, Home of the brave,
Was there ever a revolution?
Were there ever even slaves?
Living in a world out of phase,
Stop! Thinking we have years or centuries,
We may only have a few hours or days.
