A Year to Remember

In a blink of an eye,
Fear startled everyone,
It is COVID-19,

A pandemic rippled through the Earth,
Tearing at its core,
Suddenly school went dark and people’s jobs lost,
houses not allowing exit, everything discontinued.

Unaware of any normalcy to come,
students longed for school days,
people longed for their jobs back,
questioning the fate of the future
As chaos whirled outside.

Finally as everyone hoped for,
Some sense of normalcy, jobs were found,
Schools opened their doors,

Would it be the same,
The new season, new uncertainties:
Will winter blanket us in snow
Or in questions,
Will we be able to breathe the joy in the air
Through our masks?
