Absence of feeling – Numb

We know what it's like to not feel your hand or foot.
Do you know what it's like for that to be a feeling?
To have no feelings at all?

It's like screaming in space,
no matter how loud you scream there is only silence.
Like a sea witch's curse stealing my voice.

There is no rhyme, no reason.
No need, no want.
Nothing to make it better, nothing to make it worse.

The absence of feeling is scarier than pain.
Scarier than the monsters under your bed, in the dark.
Scarier than the demons in your head.

The absence of feelings allows you to do anything,
everything,
nothing.

The absence of felling leads to the absence of thought,
the absence of identity,
the absence of life.
