If I had know this aching
I would surely have done away with it.
My heart is so sore,
I would surely have tore it out,
Got rid of such pain.
I could have skewered it.
Buried it with the carcass.
Thrown that rock over it.
Watched it ache no more.
Had I know this pain was real
I would have ripped it from my chest,
Let it beat slow,
And eat it myself.

Writing poetry is my passion. I write about what is in my heart whether it be joy or pain. Writing daily in my poetry journal keeps me connected to myself and the world around me.
