Acorn Love

By Fruits

gathering acorns for the snowy winter
ahead, a black squirrel rather than red,
solid brown eyes focusing while winking ahead
hind legs flying
taking that leap
through the air landing
balancing like a trapeze artist
metallic golden leaves lighting
the way a trail of fire colors
red orange yellow and gray
running up the trunk
tiny hands to hold and carrying
it's next winter's nut
balancing between its' paws tail gutters
serving as a sail
