Acting
My heart is heavy,
How I wish that I was strong,
Covering up lies.
Lying to my friends,
I lie to my family,
As the burden grows.
Is it really true?
Am I really just lying?
I’m really okay.
No, I’m an actress.
It’s not lying, it’s acting,
Pretending I’m fine.
But, no, I’m not fine.
That’s when the acting comes in,
That’s how it all starts.
I’ll be an actress,
So others don’t have to act,
You get used to it.
How I wish that I was strong,
Covering up lies.
Lying to my friends,
I lie to my family,
As the burden grows.
Is it really true?
Am I really just lying?
I’m really okay.
No, I’m an actress.
It’s not lying, it’s acting,
Pretending I’m fine.
But, no, I’m not fine.
That’s when the acting comes in,
That’s how it all starts.
I’ll be an actress,
So others don’t have to act,
You get used to it.

I am fine, I really am. But sometimes when I am actually hurting, others need me the most, and I have to cover it up!
