Aftermath

Silence is only heard,
in the land of bombs and bullets,
for now the heroes are gone,
and so is the war.

The scent of betrayal still hung in the air,
for all that remained
was a dog loyal,
who dare not bark,
at an owner's grave,
for they all had left for land's sake.

Young or old,
doesn't matter right now,
for they all had left,
to a land away.
young and old alike, now lie in their grave,
no one crying,
because the silence was speaking
