Agent of the Universe

Millions of stars all around
And it is this speck of stardust that inhabits my soul.
A fire burns within me.
As though my being will burst into hot flames of passion.
I am deep, personal, internal, entangled.
What will the universe do with what I have to offer?
What will I do with what the universe has granted me?

Millions of stars all around
And it is this star's dimming light that threatens.
A darkness grows within me.
As though my heart has begun to pump tar instead of blood.
I am angry, violent, frightened, unraveled.
What will the universe do with what I refuse to take?
What will I do with what the universe forces onto me?
