Aimless
I am walking around the grocery store the same way I walk through life
I am holding the things I came for but I can not leave
I have nowhere to go yet I do not stop to decide what is next
Turn left… turn right… go straight
My brain is far from here
I am on autopilot with no directions
I know I am missing something… I can feel it
There is a nagging voice telling me not yet
So i wonder aimlessly
Not knowing what i need, where i am going, but i am waiting
for something to give my trip purpose
To give me the permission to leave
I am holding the things I came for but I can not leave
I have nowhere to go yet I do not stop to decide what is next
Turn left… turn right… go straight
My brain is far from here
I am on autopilot with no directions
I know I am missing something… I can feel it
There is a nagging voice telling me not yet
So i wonder aimlessly
Not knowing what i need, where i am going, but i am waiting
for something to give my trip purpose
To give me the permission to leave

This poem started coming to me while walking the grocery store and wouldn't leave my mind the entire time I was trying to shop. I walked around with words just floating in and out of my head. It felt wrong to leave the store because I needed something but didn't know what.
