Alaskan Summer

Sun dips but skims
Back up again
Midnight stays bright
Dawn stretches
Sunset extends
A temporary season
Hopeful reprieve
This Alaskan Summer
Where night has left
Darkness never envelopes
Light always wins
Shadows shimmer
But never eclipse
Ground down
I’ll hold
My Alaskan summer
