All Alone by Marilyn Kiragu
It is a dark winter’s night
The eerie glow of that moon traps me,
Surrounding me in the darkness
I stride forward but stop in my tracks
Frozen with fear
For behold my battle of the darkness
eventually surrounds me
My heart pounding
My emotion fading
I try to grasp, but can’t let it go
quivering with fear
My soul is being wiped stale clean.
On this dark (get it?) winter’s night,
I stand here
On my feet
Holding every last piece of strength
All Alone
In the darkness
