All Good Things

Our first touch of grass, cool under feet
Ice cream cones melt in summertime streets
A three minute song makes a heavy heart beat
All good things are brief, but sweet

Glorious mornings, fresh and new
Breathtaking wonder, bird’s eye view
Hardships seeming far and few
All good things are rare, but true

Shooting stars shine and blink from sight
Fireworks crackle, emblazon the night
Sunsets of color and magic and light
All good things burn quick, but bright

Childhood swing-set, soaring and free
Salt air’s caress in a day by the sea
Ten thousand precious memories
All good things pass, but stay with me
