Alone

I walk alone on a path, darkness upon me
The quiet of the night shields me from the eyes
The crickets and tree frogs speak to me as my feet meet the ground
I am one with the still air night gliding through the emptiness
The tranquility bids me on
The sidewalks cracks are mountains to be climbed
I meet them all with the vigor of youth passed upon
My heart beat as each foot progresses
The steps quicken as the light shows in the east
Soon the light will be upon high but my walk will be nigh.
