Alone

A candle flickers in the hallway
A figure creeps up the stairs
A floorboard creeks on the landing
The lights go out in pairs
A young girl alone in the bedroom
A dagger to her throat
Her final words "I love you"
As her mind begins to float
A lonely son at a graveyard
Weeping at their graves
His final words "I love you"
As he retreats to the caves
An old man alone in an alley
Lost in his final hours
His final words "I love you"
Then his body surrounded by flowers
Alone and drifting forever
No hope left to find
The darkness overwhelms each one,
Lost lonely minds
