Alone

He chose to be alone.
Though others wondered why.
Refused to talk to people,
not a hello or goodbye.

Only wanted a companion,
just one certain breed.
Nothing more nothing less.
A pit bull yes, yes indeed.

He longed to be lightning,
that brightly danced alone.
Felt jealous of the clouds that
made the sky there only home.

Some say he wished to hard,
some say he wished to long.
The more he tried to fit in,
he just didn't belong.

The trees, they say, stood witness.
The sky refused to tell. But one
fateful day he felt so bad he didn't
come out of his shell.

His life may never change, he
still wants to be alone. One day
he went missing and his
whereabouts are unknown.
