Alpha

Alpha

I walked alone in the woods today
And thought of Alpha.
Her time upon this earth was full of joy
Because she loved so much.
She loved people, trees, birds, antiques, flowers,
Leaves, rocks, Christmas, and life itself.
She would have been thrilled today,
As she was in autumns past,
By the beauty and brilliance in the fall foliage.
She would have loved the waterfall I sat beside.

A dear friend of hers said to me last night,
“Alpha was a woman of deep convictions.
She did not mouth her religion, she lived it.”
She was a loving and devoted wife,
A friend to many,
A mother to me in the truest sense of the word.
She was always young at heart.
Even in her 77th year, after suffering much pain,
She was never old.
I loved her very much,
As did many others.
We will all miss her.
