Am I a flower?

Am I a flower?
You call me your daisy, your rose,
your beautiful carnation.
You plant me into the soft earth
with soft words you speak so cleverly.

Am I a flower?
You pick me up from my stem and tell me
that I smell and look so dreamy.
You plant me into the soft earth
with soft words you speak so cleverly.

Am I a flower?
I think I am your flower.
For you pluck my petals and it hurts.
And you loom over me to cover the sun
because you know that I need it the most.

But still I stand here, unmoving.
For with your soft words that you spoke so cleverly,
you planted me into the soft earth.
And I too daft only to now realize that
I am your flower.
