Am I deserving?
How am I deserving of such love?
Of hours of labor
Of countless sacrifices, pains, and trials
Do I deserve all you give me?
Every day you work till your bones break
But you still carry me on your shoulders
Every night you tell me you're not tired
Yet I see the bags under your eyes
I was born from you two people
And I question how you may love me
Have I done a momentous task?
Have I gained a great will?
Why?
Why carry me?
Before your friends!
Before your family!
Before yourself!
You tell me, "I’m special"
That I am the miracle child!
No
That's not me
And yet
These 2 people would kill themselves
For me
A child that questions
Am I deserving?
Of hours of labor
Of countless sacrifices, pains, and trials
Do I deserve all you give me?
Every day you work till your bones break
But you still carry me on your shoulders
Every night you tell me you're not tired
Yet I see the bags under your eyes
I was born from you two people
And I question how you may love me
Have I done a momentous task?
Have I gained a great will?
Why?
Why carry me?
Before your friends!
Before your family!
Before yourself!
You tell me, "I’m special"
That I am the miracle child!
No
That's not me
And yet
These 2 people would kill themselves
For me
A child that questions
Am I deserving?
