Among Dead Trees

Among the dead trees
With their long branches bare
Standing tall as they give people a scare
The cherry blossom trees
A home for the sweet bumblebees
Watch as the soft pink flowers drift in the wind
With them the aroma that makes your head spin
And no matter how tall or how thin they may seem
They still have the same beautiful meaning
The sun shines down making a pink glow
As if you nearly arrived in time for the show
With one swift gust
The petals will fall
Drifting around you to make you feel small
As they fall to your feet
You look down in defeat
For they may not make a sound
But the petals spell out the unspoken words on the ground
And when you read them you look up
Only to see a tree with bare branches
No beauty or life
But somehow it reaches to you
Hoping someday to become anew
Upon knowing its secrets you begin to walk away
Every step you take, the tree will fade
But as long as you remember the beauty it made
Your life will never be the same
Among the dead trees
With their long branches bare
Reaching for you, they long for your stare
