An Ocean

They asked us: what’s love without an ocean?
Where seas don’t blend to skies
Where fish don’t shimmer like sapphire gems
The same cerulean as your eyes
What’s love without an ocean?
Where sands aren't tinged with red
And the shells aren't starlight glazed
Like the golden crown upon your head
What’s love without an ocean?
Where calm waves become distraught
Where silver winds don’t swirl around us
Like when your laughter swept me on that yacht
They asked us: what’s love without an ocean?
And our answer is: it’s not
