An Ode To Earth

By

Can you see the dawn breaking,
Can you see the dusk fading,
The smell of fresh air upon your face,
Gushing your soul with abundant grace.
We are trapped in sickness, away from our friends,
Distancing our life and being separated from them,
We believe that just a touch is foul to the human skin,
But we have forgotten what was and what has been.

I know you want to stay safe, as all of us do,
But remember the important people in our lives,
The touch of our loved ones really matters too,
Is this how you truly want to live or want to die?
Every one of us learns we only live once,
Do not live your life with a single regret,
Not with recklessness, but truly for fun,
It is the only chance you will ever get.

Be free from the chains that hold you back,
This sickness will not last long in this trap,
Take in a breath of that bountiful fresh air,
And know, this is not the time for despair.
Understand that you will never be alone,
You have a family that will be your home,
For happiness, you gain with your friends,
Is something that should and will never end.
