An Ode to My Parents

You made me turn against my mom.
And you turned me against my dad.
In an effort to manipulate a vulnerable child,
you made them see the worst in people in order to gain something from it.
The thing is you only did it for a short period of time thinking that there would be no consequences,
but of course, there was,
You ended up with a child who only sees the worst in those she’s supposed to love the most,
She wasn’t supposed to learn how to make decisions by choosing between parents,
She was supposed to make decisions by choosing between right and wrong,
But what was she supposed to do when both were made out to be
The devil themselves?
~The divorce wasn’t supposed to be this hard
