An Ode to Summer

The season that feels me with delight,
promising great fun,
bringing mosquitoes that bite.
So many places to run.

Breathing in new fresh air,
and trying to beat the heat.
Spend a whole day at the fair,
and run around in bare feet.

Travel to a new location.
Visit a lemonade stand.
Discover a new sensation,
and spend a day on the sand.

Spend the season making a new friend.
Eat your weight in ice cream.
It is too bad summer has to end,
it almost felt like a dream.
