An Unforgotten Sacrifice

By Da Poet

A wife, a mother, a sister, a gem,
we remember her well,
and her name was Gwen.

Less we forget that charming smile,
it’s been four years, I must meditate awhile.
She was a rare breed you can’t forget,
she made herself known you can bet.

A cherished life,
time well spent,
remembering happier times,
for her life this was meant.

She didn’t always agree,
she wasn’t always right,
however, she never walk away from a fight.

It hurt when she left,
it’s a little better now,
perhaps we’ll see her again,
at the last corral?

Less we forget.
