Anachronism (homophone Eyes)

My fingers are coming undone at the seams.
They are memory and fact ergo they are nothing. This
is a question.
In time they are grasping, rosy--
like your cheeks?
I will leave this for the girl waiting for you on
the corner with her hair loose about her
so I cannot see whether she smiles
(I make myself hope)
Strut--it is a command
Flaunt--and I am falling apart
Petals in the gutter
Tschuk. Your mouth. A chafing against lips.
Whispered thought:I crave this
If it is that you do not want it?
But it is raining. I pretend I am older. My hair is wet.
I am wet all over
Do you dream of me? I shouldn't, but
of split lips and black eyes (your gifts)
Ignore me--and this a plea
In my dreams she is (eye)
Amazonian--breastless and pure

I will never own a watch.
