And So, The Children Will Sing

By

Ring around the rosey,
Pockets full of posies,
COVID, COVID,
We all fell down.
The ferryman soon came,
And rowed to Thomas Lane,
Bye Dad, Bye Dad,
He left within the night.
There’s darkness in his eyes,
Goodbye sweet lullabies,
Bad cough, bad cough,
No vaccine is in sight.
The bodies pile high,
Months since we’ve seen the sky,
Curfew, curfew,
Hysteria is here.
It became hard to breathe,
Now I’m in quarentine,
Sneezing, sneezing,
Unable now to taste.
Was tested through the nose,
There’s COVID in my home,
Infected, infected,
They’re leaving me to die.
