And We as Well

With pudgy, pompous countenances,
up inside their offices,
litigating documents with monotonous incompetence.
They convene inside their congresses,
rolling over promises,
condoning all these consequences yet doling only opposites.
It’s hard to find the confidence,
in wake of all their opulence,
to pin point what the problem is...

It’s greed.
To take more than what you need.
To seed this disease that’s dragged our nation by the sleeve.
The wanton wasteful creed, polluting forests and our seas.
The trees.
The trees still need to breathe,

I suppose, so do we.
