Angel Wings

I'll walk this year wearing angel wings
in memory of those who live on now only in our dreams.
Their love was grand, sweetly sublime
and I carry it always within my mind.

Who has not fallen upon their knees
to beg and plead; bring them back please, God please.
And year after year we walk on
for all who've fallen we must be strong.

Why did I get to live? And then I know
not because I'm special but for the walk I've got to show.
I'll raise whatever money I can
and I'll walk every year and here make my stand.

I'll walk 'till I can't or I'm needed no more
because the dying has stopped and so has this Aids war.
The walking, living and learning has made me a better man
with angel wings I'll walk and they'll watch from above
as I walk while I can.
