Angel’s Hand

Hiding your pain with every cut
Hiding your misery with each movement of the blade
Trying to solve everything by causing pain
Living a life no one can even dare to understand
Holding back tears every day
All the while, you see happiness around you
No one will understand your pain but you
The deep cut of the knife relieves your problems for only awhile
So you spend yet another night questioning your life
Questioning your existence and your meaning
Wondering if you even have a purpose
And if life is worth living any longer
You do a few quick cuts before having to hide it from your family
Not wanting them to know your pain
Going through yet another day where you're disregarded and invisible
But what you don't understand is there is a guardian angel disguised
As an innocent girl
Trying to help you and be there
But you just shrug her away, unknowing
And go home for yet another day of pain and neglect
But that angel refuses to be defeated
She will fight for you forever
But it's only your choice to decide: grab a blade, or the angel's hand
