Angels in Disquise

The calming waters at the river`s edge
The tiny ripples forever coming
The orange-winged blackbirds arrive
They bring an eloquence to the wild side of mother earth
Where wildlife has been dispersed

Songs of nature's music, the call of the mate
To his special date peeking an ambiance in my life-giving force
An act of humanity if you will
Making my heart stand perfectly still.

A lone mallard appears
As the mallard balances on the liquid waves
The glimpse of a rodent filling his cheeks
Inches away as I dare not speak

Wildlife and water, what a wonderful mix
To the bugs and insects struggling over debris and sticks
Persist as time goes by
Let us watch the sun saying goodbye
As we all become angels in disguise.
