Anhedonia

Joy isn't so easy to find nowadays
It used to be a child
Wandering the street
It found solace in the sunny days
And snowy nights
It savored candy
And took a liking to juice
But Joy isn't so easy to find nowadays
It grew to be a teen
wandering its home
It found solace curled up in bed
and in front of a screen
It savored quiet
and took a liking to sleep
But Joy isn't so easy to find nowadays
It grew to be an adult
wandering the world
It found solace with drinks in hand
and one night stands
It savored fleeting time
and took a liking to everything
But Joy isn't so easy to find nowadays
Because Joy is no longer a child
it is no longer a teen
it is no longer an adult
it is gone
and that's where Joy
knows where it belongs
