Another Day

Another day has finally come to an end.
Thank God for getting me through it.
Didn't think I could do it.
The world has no place left to run.
No shadows from the sun in which to hide.
Another day has died; this day is done.
The night sheds her cloak of darkness:
Peace from another time.
She caresses my weary mind
in search of sanctuary that only she can find.
Somewhere between the seas' calm and life's rushing tide
lies another world inside,
where wrong is made to right.
Where caverns find light and sight has no insight.
Free to drift away like aimless dust in the moonlight.
Awaken to a misty morn.
The sun begins it's yawn
revealing an infant dawn.
As I drop to my knees and pray;
thanking God for...another day.
