Another Motherless Urban Poem

This is to all of the motherless children,
And to all of the adult single women
On Mother's Day:
Don't be sad or lonely because (god) only
Knows what you have endured without her?
Whether she died as a 'drug mule' crossing the border.
Or whether she died from a breast cancer disorder?
The devastating loss is almost like a heroin overdose!
Or an alcoholic binge...
When you cringe after
The first two to three days of rapid withdrawal.

But how can you all
Be held so accountable
For the personal upheavals in your mothers lives?
And most of her wrong choices...
And many of her toxic relationships.
Even the one with the bad abortionist
Who was finally convicted...
As a maniacal gynecologist!

So what we all desperately crave (everyday)
And not just on this sentimental Sunday...
Are those big, warm, juicy, hugs!
That seem to nourish our souls from heaven above.
