Anxiety
I lie awake at night,
Trapped in my own shell.
I'm drowning within myself,
But on the surface there's an icy stillness.
The inner reaches of my mind whisper cruelties and lies.
Ghosts show their faces in the dark,
Reminding me that the past cannot be changed,
And the future,
Should be feared.
For it is both bright as the blazing sun,
And dark as the deepest depths of the ocean.
