My fundamental amorphous matter in its purest, innate state
Unique and clever unlike any other, deeply connected with me
Transcending space and time, birth and death
An affair as ours is indeed like no other
It is mostly me as I am mostly it in a multitude of ways
Moving with much grace, it speaks to me in ripples
Uncorrupted in its essence
It bends, flows, morphs, and gains complexity as do my thoughts
It is our mother-matter
Its mesmerizing architecture
Carefully-arranged lattices of partially-charged molecules
We are both contained and container
Perpetually immersed in one another as we must be
My gateway to freedom so to my boyhood I can return
Even if for a brief moment
Quintessential aqua, with its infinite repertoire of blue-green hues
