Are You Listening?

Are you listening?
Do you hear the sound of fire beneath you
That burns your feet
as you walk through your past?
Flames leave embers of broken dreams
Hopes are lost, childhood destroyed.

Are you listening?
That house you have in your mind
Is falling apart dear reader.
Fear is calling you, ripping and slicing you.
What are you to do?

Are you listening?
The lions roar in your ears
The blood of men dripping from their chins
They cut into your lungs
Begging you to succumb.

Are you listening?
That silence is oh so quiet.
Have you killed your mind dear reader
Or are you living dead?
