Arise oh sleeping beauty

It was as if the sun was about to set
the cloud was enveloped by thick darkness
the sun had turned cold
the moon gone dim.

Compassing round about her they cried
arise oh sleeping beauty
their eyes filled with tears wide
wake up must we make a treaty
beauty it is day they wept.

Must the mighty end like this
must the living end like this
purple hibiscus stop, wait
must you gradually fade away
we are all calling
arise oh sleeping beauty.

The life you lived was full of pain
though you were an angel in the rain
for years gone by you suffered
there must be a cure so hoped
vehemently moving forward
you deserve that applaud.

Finally must it be like this
loosing a battle you fought
going to the other side in peace
please don't go everybody cried
we still need you by our side
oh the sun has turned cold
her mother wept in shrouds
wake up
arise oh sleeping beauty.
