Art Gleaner

She could take a blank page
and make word seeds,
like dandelions in the wind
that took root
and blossomed into ryhthmic verse.

He could stretch a canvas
as tight as a drum
that reverberated seedling sketches.

I could listen and watch,
read and observe,
glean every hope
for one errant sprout
in my small plot of earth.
