As I Got Older


When I was a young girl
My life was so good
But as I got older
The Demons under my bed
They moved to my head
All the doctors tried to fix me with pills
But you can't kill
The monsters in my head
As I got older
Nights got longer
And thoughts got darker
Because my only friends
were in my head
As I got older
I found the bottom of a bottle
And I hit rock bottom
The white coats came
And took me away
They pumped my veins
To take away my pain
As I got older
My demons retreated
The sun came out
And birds began to sing again
But for how long
