As She Ran
She stared up at the lights in horror,
Pondering what had come to be.
Realizing that second chances were no longer free.
Because the oh so called hope,
Had let her down once again.
Staring back at her reflection saw a bruise.
Because her fury and rage had provoked her again.
But an impossible barrier of madness had slapped her back.
The girl held her face,
Obstructing tears of will,
But as soon as she was back in her place,
Sobbed into her pillow.
And as her heart grew in motionless ice,
Reflectively saw someone else.
And as she ran in her head,
Thought of a different destiny meant for herself.
