As the Grass Grows

A tiny ant weaves his way through

Careful not to stir morning dew

Snails leaving slimy trails move slow

While I sit, watching the grass grow

Soaring overhead, in blue sky

The hawk’s shadow comes passing by

A cooling breeze begins to blow

While I sit, watching the grass grow

The smell of breakfast fills the air

As squirrels jump through trees with flair

The pangs of life ebb and flow

While I sit, watching the grass grow

Not an inkling of stress to bear

As peace surrounds me everywhere

I’m relaxed from my head to toe

While I sit, watching the grass grow
