As the Mists Fell Down

I heard the crickets, up since dawn
Sing praises from the dewy lawn
And every chirp, and squeak, and sound
was,"Hosanna" as the mists fell down
And leaping from the cars that passed
They beat their wings of isinglass
To light upon some leafy home
And lay more praises at His throne
And every mountain, rock, and tree
Lifted their hands or bent their knee
And all the earth joined with their sound
To praise Him as the mists fell down
With lifted hands and bended knees
I joined the crickets, rocks, and trees,
And mountains in that Holy sound
To praise Him as the mists fell down.
