As We Get Older…

As we get older, we forget the littlest things in life;
The moments we shared from preschool, elementary or high.
As we get older, the innocence is like an onion;
Every year, it gets peeled away until all may be lost.
But until that time, we so rarely look back on the fun and laughter,
and being together.

As we get older, we lose ourselves in the society we live in;
The society where people have the power to choose the way to live.
Taking actions and making a change are what motivates people.
For the rest of us? We follow. No questions asked.

As we get older, we miss the beauty of life itself, whether it's
Mother Nature, God or anything that values most,
such as family, friends, happiness or success.
They all turn into knowledge that may be remembered,
but also forgotten as we get older.
