Asphyxial Kisses

You leaned in,
and your soft lips
put me on a boat.
Warm sand, cool water;
I dove in.
My body felt free;
weightless.
My heart raced faster
as I held my breath.
A sharp pang hit my lungs,
and I tried to pull away,
but strong waves pulled me under.
As I fought against the rip
Wave after wave crashed down.
The icy cold tore at my skin.
And still your arms wrapped
tighter and tighter
around my neck,
pulling me closer and closer
towards unconsciousness.
You released me,
and I gasped for air,
lightheaded and crazed
for my new addiction;
your lips.
