At an Intersection

Dissapointment and grief
Are the fruits of my life
Grown on a tree
Rooted in strife
Can I bury the past
If I dig up the dead
And change wine
Into water
And love into bread
I know the path
I've seen the road
And upward I gaze
As downward I go
Monstrous madman is a
A title I've claimed
Walking in darkness
Knowing nothing but shame
But lately I've found
In this season of change
That a star has fallen
And time rearranged
The reflection I see
In this mirror of mind
Ugly and cruel
Deceitfully unkind
Be it too late
To walk in the sun?
And turn my back
On what I've become?
Or doomed am I destined
To wander this path
Of destruction and pain
And never come back?
