At His Finger

A terrifying moon wanes
down a hill
and I think of god and his
trembling hand
on the head
of a regretted world
that shook
at his finger

My skin will shrivel
with the fallen salt
from the sinners
who darkened
in their love
of bottles
of dice
of money
of lust
themselves.
