At the Very Thought of You

I have a physical reaction
At the very thought of you

I furiously, meticulously scrub
Trying to scratch away the idea of you
Ridding myself of you with steel wool
(And if that does not work)

I drown you, pushing you under the surface
Soaking you in chemicals, in bleach
Fading the stain of you from my life
(And if that does not work)

I cleanse totally, purging you in entirety
Setting you ablaze in white hot eviction
Choking you out with the smoke
Leaving us as nothing more than ash
The toxicity of you burning off me in waves

No longer sickened ...
No longer panicked ...
No longer annihilated ...

At the very thought of you
